The Human Centipede 2 (Full Sequence) (2011) Review

The Human Centipede 2 (Full Sequence) is a 2011 horror film directed by Tom Six and starring Laurence R. Harvey. The film is a sequel to Six’s 2009 film The Human Centipede (First Sequence), and features Harvey as a man who becomes obsessed with the first film and decides to create his own human centipede.

The Human Centipede 2 (Full Sequence) received mixed reviews from critics. Some praised the film for its gore and black humor, while others criticized it for its graphic and disturbing content.

Well if The Human Centipede 1 was a sick flick, it has nothing on this one. No kidding, this one dark dark horrid movie that is viscerally putrid in certain parts.

The movie’s acting quality is really quite good. Laurence R. Harvey who plays the main part as Martin doesn’t have much dialogue (hardly any) but he manages to bring across the many disturbing and sometimes interesting elements of his character well. Martin is one sick puppy, and Laurence’s performance is really the only thing that stops the character becoming boring. The rest of the cast are fine also.

One thing that’s worth mentioning is the whole movie is in black and white. Normally modern day movie makers do this to try and inject an old fashioned stylism to whatever they’re making (usually badly) and it really works quite well here. The colouration helps embolden the dark nature of the subject material well.

The gore and general production levels are solid, indeed it looks very convincing for the most part without any of the cosmetics looking naff.

Who’s going to dig the Human Centipede 2? Well for sure i’d bet lovers of the first movie will. Just as a sidenote: i wouldn’t say you’d have to watch the first movie first to get what’s going on but it probably wouldn’t be a bad idea.

Ultimately this is a seriously dark flick, which will appeal to folks looking for some of the more demented – disturbing horror that’s out there. Folks looking a casual family-esque viewing experience has best avoid – BIG TIME!

The film was banned in the United Kingdom and Australia, and was heavily censored in other countries.

The Human Centipede 2 (Full Sequence) is not for the faint of heart. It is a graphic and disturbing film that will leave you feeling nauseated and disturbed. However, if you are a fan of horror films, then this is a must-see. The gore is incredibly well done, and the black humor will have you laughing in spite of yourself. Just be warned that this is not a film for everyone.

Synopsis

Martin is a mentally disturbed loner who lives with his mother in a filthy home in an industrial part of England. He works the night shift as a security guard at a local parking garage and spends his days watching horror movies, with a particular interest in the film The Human Centipede (First Sequence) (2009), about a mad scientist who sews together the mouths of three unsuspecting victims.

One night, Martin breaks into the home of a middle-aged couple, Ashley and Lauren, and chloroforms them. He takes them back to his home and restrains them in his basement. He then goes to a local bar and picks up a Japanese tourist, Katsuro. He brings Katsuro back to his house and chloroforms him as well.

Martin has been planning to create his own human centipede and has Katsuro and the couple sewn together, mouth to anus. He then force-feeds them a mixture of stool and urine.

The human centipede begins to experience health problems due to the unsanitary conditions they are being kept in and the lack of proper nutrition. Martin becomes increasingly frustrated and sadistic, sexually abusing and torturing the centipede.

The centipede eventually dies and Martin disposes of the bodies. He then goes back to the bar and picks up another Japanese tourist, this time a woman. He brings her back to his house and chloroforms her.

Martin begins to sew the woman to the dead bodies of the previous centipede, but she wakes up and screams, alerting his mother to what he is doing. His mother comes downstairs and is horrified at the sight of the human centipede. Martin stabs her to death and then turns the knife on himself.
