Abraxas is a 1990 Canadian film directed by George Mihalka and written by Bob Clark and Steven A. Clark. It stars Michael Ironside as a police detective who is investigating a series of murders committed by a serial killer known as the “Abraxas Killer”.

This movie is truly awful, a cheesy, campy affair with dull SFX and no six legged killing machine alien/robots, there is nothing exciting here at all. There is a decent enough cast but they seem to struggle with what is a thin, stupid script. There are times when the stories logic simply does not add up and your left wondering what the hell is going on. They’ve tried to place some ethical issues in there with regard to the mother and child but it simply does not work. The dialogue in this movie has the power to make your ears bleed, hard. The characterisations are very one dimensional and flat, they’ve definitely borrowed from many movies, The Terminator influence stands out the strongest.
In the end if I had to try and think of something positive to say about Abraxas, I simply couldn’t. There really is nothing to be said, I could only recommend this one if you’re very bored and have run out of new movies to watch. Personally I’d rather watch re-runs of Murder She Wrote. Avoid.

Synopsis
In the year 2099, the world is a bleak and scary place. The planet has been ruined by pollution and war, and the few remaining humans are living in a dystopian society. One day, a group of scientists working on a top secret project discover a way to travel back in time. They decide to use their new Time Machine to travel back to the year 1990, in hopes of stopping the events that led to the destruction of the world.
When the scientists arrive in 1990, they quickly realize that they are not the only ones with the ability to travel through time. There is another group of people, known as the Abraxas, who are also able to travel through time. The Abraxas are a group of criminals who use their time travel abilities to commit crimes. The scientists must find a way to stop the Abraxas before they can change the course of history and destroy the world.
The film follows the scientists as they try to stop the Abraxas, while also dealing with the personal challenges that come with time travel. They must grapple with the fact that they are changing the past, and that their actions could have unforeseen consequences. They also must deal with the Abraxas, who are determined to stop them at any cost.
In the end, the scientists are successful in stopping the Abraxas and preventing them from changing the course of history. They return to the future, where they find that the world is now a better place. The film ends with the scientists looking forward to a bright future, free from the threat of the Abraxas.
