Satan’s Little Helper (2004) Review

Satan’s Little Helper is a 2004 American horror comedy film directed by Jeff Lieberman and starring Alexandra Daddario, Brendan Fletcher, and Toby Huss. The film follows a young boy who becomes friends with a serial killer dressed as Santa Claus.

Satan’s Little Helper is a fun and campy horror comedy that is sure to please fans of the genre. The film is well-directed and features a great cast, including a stand-out performance by Alexandra Daddario. The film’s biggest strength is its sense of humor, which is dark and twisted, but never ceases to be entertaining.

I really loved this movie, whilst it’s not the scariest movie is ever seen (hardly) it is a good laugh. The young actor Alexander Brickle is really where most of the comedy is at. His naivety at all the going’s on around him is really quite hilarious at certain parts. Without him I don’t think this movie would have worked so well. Katheryn Winnick puts is a solid performance as his sister and also Amanda Plummer as his mother. The all round acting quality is fine.

Gore is really on the minimal side, STL doesn’t play to make you wanna puke all over the place like a little girl, it’s very much geared in the ‘fun’ vein of horror and it does it well. So if your expecting some serious horror your going to be very disappointed.

Pacing is solid, the movie goes along as it should and the general directing style is consistent throughout. There are a few tense moments in STL, like when Jenna Whooly thinks that Satan is actually her boyfriend in disguise. You’re never quite sure if she’s going to be getting a knife or axe put into her and the whole thing is played out well. There are a few moments in the movie like this and it helps keep things edgy.

To conclude, Satan’s Little Helper is great horror comedy that should make for a brilliant Halloween watch. Plain and simple – watch this movie!

While the film is not without its flaws, they are easy to overlook thanks to the overall enjoyability of the film. Satan’s Little Helper is a fun and festive horror movie that is sure to get you into the holiday spirit.

The film centers on Dougie (Skarsgård), a young man who is obsessed with horror movies and video games. When his parents go out of town, Dougie is left home alone with his sister, Beth (Winnick). He puts on the mask and pretends to be the character, but when Beth finds him, she is terrified.

Dougie then goes to a Halloween party with Beth and her friends. At the party, he meets a girl named Amy (Plummer) and they hit it off. However, when Dougie goes to use the restroom, he finds a group of people wearing Satan masks and they mistake him for the real Satan. They begin to torture and kill people at the party, and Dougie is forced to go along with it or be killed himself.

Eventually, the group arrives at Amy’s house, where they proceed to torture and kill her family. Dougie is horrified by what he has done, but the group forces him to keep going. They eventually arrive at a church, where they plan to sacrifice a young girl. Dougie finally snaps and takes off the Satan mask, revealing his true identity. The group is shocked and they flee, leaving Dougie behind.

The film ends with Dougie being taken away by the police. He is shown to be traumatized by the events of the night, and it is implied that he will be charged with the murders.
