The town’s mayor, Matt, is dealing with the town’s financial problems. He is also trying to find a way to save the town’s Christmas pageant, which is in danger of being cancelled.

The town’s schoolteacher, Miss Adkins, is dealing with her own problems. She is struggling to deal with her alcoholism.
